"For it to be cruelly taken from us in terms of a positive result in the way it was is just so heartbreaking for the lads, they gave absolutely everything."

"It's really exciting. Obviously, the club have got big ambitions and want to be up there getting promoted. That's exactly what I want to do, I want to be part of it."

Hartlepool United are looking to bounce back from last week's defeat against Sutton United at home to an Eastleigh side who have won two of their opening three National League matches this season. Our editor Robbie Stelling has made his latest round of predictions ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

"We had a lot of situations in the final third and we had some good bits of build up play, but when we got into the final third that shot, that final ball, that cross, that slide-rule pass, wasn't of the required standard to open Sutton up and give us an opportunity to score."

"We've watched all their games and they've been a strong, physical team. They've been really good, they're really good at what they do. We knew that."

"We certainly didn't lose the game because of Nathan Fisher, we should have been better in other areas."

"I don't think we showed the real Hartlepool United. We didn't show our real selves, the identity we've built since pre-season. Our pressing game wasn't at its best out of possession and our quality with the ball - that final pass, that final cross, that shot, whatever it is, the final action - wasn't great."

"We've been dreaming about this start, and we're hoping we can continue it against Hartlepool on Saturday."
